Chain's Medicare Centre (the “Company” or “Chain’s”) respects the privacy of our members, users and individuals in public and places a high priority in compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (the “Ordinance”).

 

This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) of the Company informs you about how Chain’s exercises its due diligence to comply with the standards of security and confidentiality prescribed under the Ordinance. Purposes of data collection

 

The Company from time to time collects personal identifiable information for the purposes of our administration and operations; membership admission, registration, and management; communications; resources utilisation, planning and access control; continuing professional development and quality enhancement; survey, analysis, research and development; promotion, marketing and/or branding of the profession and the Company; and provision of services and benefits to members, corporate affiliates and/or public with regards to the subject of the Company (collectively, the “Purposes”).

 

The provision of data by you is voluntary, we may also collect data in relation to your activities on our websites to administer the Company’s provision of its platform and other online member facilities. However, failure to provide the requested personal data may result in the Company being unable to process a request or deliver service.

 

Types of personal data collected

 

The types of personal information collected from members include, but are not limited to:

 

Personal information – such as name, date of birth, address, telephone numbers, email addresses;

 

Electronic records – data collected on the Chain’s online and mobile application servers which may include member’s login credentials collected for the provision of online members’ facilities

 

Use of personal data

 

Your personal data collected may be used for one or more of the following purposes or any legitimate purposes directly related to them:

 

• to verify your identity and manage membership status; • to collate data and prepare reports on our daily operations; • to communicate with you about Chain’s related information, news, publications and event invitations both in print and electronic form; • to promote and provide various membership services to you, including via direct marketing and networking facilitation amongst members and other corporate affiliates or associations for performing the subject of the Company; • to make such disclosures as required by applicable laws; and • other purposes as permitted by law.

 

 

Data retention

 

The Company endeavours to retain personal data for a period no longer than is required to fulfil the purpose(s) and/or any directly related purpose(s) for which the data were to be collected or used. Such retention shall at all times subject to requirements mandating the retention of such data imposed by laws, statutes, and law enforcement or regulatory authorities.

 

Unless otherwise agreed, hard copies of any documents containing your personal data that you provide to the Company will become the property of the Company and will not be returned to you.

 

Disclosure and Sharing of Personal Information

 

Personal data held by the Company will be kept confidential and safeguarded diligently. However, the Company may be compelled to disclose the personal data collected when required by law including, without limitation, the Ordinance, a court order or a request of law enforcement agency or regulatory authority.

 

The Company may transfer your personal data to third parties such as our corporate affiliates where necessary for the purposes outlined above. Chain's takes your right to data privacy seriously. To safeguard the privacy and data security, the personal data will only be transferred in a manner in full compliance with the requirements under the Ordinance to such a third party that respects privacy and is under a strict duty of confidentiality to us and/or who has undertaken to keep such information confidential.

 

Right to object to receiving direct marketing

 

If you do not wish to receive the Company’s communications on updates, events, projects, membership, services and publications, you may send a request to the Company by e-mail at enquiries@chains.hk, or in writing to 15F, Regent Centre, 88 Queen's Road Central, Central, Hong Kong notifying us that you do not wish your personal data to be used for direct marketing purposes. If a member wishes to opt out, please email to enquiries@chains.hk with the subject ‘Opt out’.

 

Personal information access and correction

 

We seek to ensure your personal data is accurate and up to date. If you need to change any of your personal details, please e-mail us at enquiries@chains.hk, or notify us in writing to 15F, Regent Centre, 88 Queen's Road Central, Central, Hong Kong.

 

You have the right to request access to your personal data in accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance. Your right of access includes the right to obtain a copy of the personal data the Company holds about you. A charge will be made to cover the cost of photocopying personal data supplied in response to a data access request.
